Job summary

MUSC Health is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Interventional Cardiology team at Columbia Medical Center in Columbia, SC. This full-time role combines advanced clinical practice with inpatient and outpatient care for patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular disease.

Qualifications

• Advanced Practice Provider: Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
• Board certified and licensed (or eligible) in South Carolina
• Experience in cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, or critical care preferred
• Experience with structural heart or interventional cardiology strongly preferred
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Strong procedural, clinical, and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical care to interventional cardiology patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Evaluate and manage new and established patients using clinical history, physical examination, laboratory findings, imaging, and other diagnostic results.
• Coordinate referrals, consultations, follow-up care, and transitions across the patient journey.
• Collaborate closely with the attending or collaborating physician and the broader cardiovascular team.
• Document and bill for care provided in accordance with organizational and professional standards.
• Apply current research and evidence-based decision-making to clinical practice.
• Participate in quality improvement, performance improvement, clinical research, accreditation, compliance, and regulatory activities.
• Support the development of future clinicians by precepting APP students and helping onboard new team members, as needed.
