Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking Interventional Cardiologists to join our newly created multi-specialty cardiology clinic in Fredericksburg, Virginia. You will enjoy the benefits of being a hospital employee and part of a multispecialty group comprised of 300+ members including hospitalists and a wide range of specialists. We have a multidisciplinary team that encompasses Cardiac Surgery, TAVR, Cardiac Catheterization, Electrophysiology, and Advanced Imaging.

Responsibilities:

The candidate will be responsible for managing patients with cardiovascular disease, performing interventional cardiology procedures, and participating in general call coverage for the group. The opportunity offers a high volume of procedures, vascular and non-invasive cardiac imaging.

• Coronary Angiograms and/or Cardiac Catheterization including Left Heart and/or Right Heart Catheterizations
• Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI)
• Atherectomy
• Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS) and Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) imaging
• IFR/FFR
• Pulmonary Artery Pressure Monitoring Device Implantation
• Peripheral Angiograms (including lower extremity arterial and venous angiograms, renal or carotid angiograms)

• Emergency and Rescue Procedures in the hospital for patients coming in with myocardial infarctions and/or cardiogenic shock: Emergency cardiac catheterizations, pericardiocentesis and/or insertion of mechanical heart pumps such as intra-aortic balloon pumps or other mechanical circulatory support devices
• Flexible scheduling comprised of a 1 in 6 call
• Ability to read echocardiograms, nuclear medicine, and non-invasive vascular studies

• 3 cardiac catheterization labs with state-of-the-art equipment to include a hybrid lab for structural procedures
• 1 new catheterization lab to be built in the next 18 months for a total of 4 catheterization laboratories
• Steady STEMI volume with the opportunity to perform a broad range of procedures in patients from a large geographic catchment area
• Experienced laboratory staff

Minimum Requirements:

• MD., DO., MBBS Degree
• Candidates must be BC/BE in Interventional Cardiology and General Cardiology as well as proficient in PCI. Competence in peripheral vascular procedures and structural heart capabilities are welcome.
• Current, unrestricted, Virginia State license or eligible for Virginia licensure.
• Excellent clinical and interpersonal skills are required as well as the desire to be part of a team that functions at the highest level.
• Experienced physicians and new graduates welcome to apply. This position cannot support J1 visas.
