Job description

Must be a graduate of an approved medical school, completed an internship and/or residency in his/her given specialty or be board eligible, with insurability for professional liability, and licensed as a physician in the State of Ohio. Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to make quality independent decisions.

Required certifications include Federal DEA Certification, Medical Specialty License or Certification, and being Board certified or Board eligible in the specified area of medical specialty.

Job Responsibilities

1. Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.
2. Refers patients to specialists and relevant care components as appropriate.
3. Trains and supervises medical students and residents engaged in specialty activities and procedures, as appropriate.
4. May manage the daily operations of a specific medical program, patient care unit, or research function.
5. Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required.
6. Follows established departmental policies, procedures, objectives, and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
7. Participates in health promotion, education, and prevention programs as appropriate.
8. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
