Job summary

Georgia Heart Institute (GHI), in partnership with Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS), seeks a Board Certified or Board Eligible Interventional Cardiologist to join our growing program in Gainesville, Georgia.

You will work with a large cardiology team, perform angioplasty, stent placement, and complex imaging (IVUS/OCT/FFR), participate in on-call rotations, and have opportunities for research and teaching residents and fellows.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
• Completion of Cardiology Fellowship and Interventional Cardiology Fellowship.
• Board Certified in Cardiology and Board Certified/Board Eligible in Interventional Cardiology.
• Strong technical skills in interventional procedures and patient management.
• Experience with complex coronary interventions and peripheral vascular procedures.
• Familiarity with advanced imaging modalities (IVUS, OCT, FFR).

Responsibilities

• Perform interventional procedures including angioplasty, stent placement, atherectomy, and catheter-based therapies.
• Participate in on-call rotations for emergency cardiac interventions.
• Overnight advanced practitioner support to handle first calls, admissions and consults.
• Lead a busy structural program with aortic, mitral and tricuspid interventions.
• First Georgia hospital to receive Emergency Cardiac Care Center designation.
• Collaborate with experienced clinical staff; opportunities for research and teaching residents and cardiac fellows.

Practice Overview

More than a dozen locations throughout Northeast Georgia.

Cardiology program consists of more than 100 Cardiologists and Advanced Practice Providers.

Team performs more than 5,000 cardiac procedures and over 125,000 cardiology consults each year.

Responsibilities

• Participate in on-call rotations for emergency cardiac interventions.
