Description

The Intervention Specialist is part of Lakeside School's Behavior Management Team. Working with students one-on-one or in a group setting, the goal is to help students with behavioral and clinical difficulties to promote growth and development.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working with students needing behavioral and clinical interventions to promote growth and development.
  • Gathering information and using the Positive Behavior Support Plan to facilitate interventions (suspension interventions, ATS interventions, extended resolve interventions).
  • Assisting students in identifying and developing new skills to avoid behavioral issues.
  • Facilitating opportunities for students to make amends, restitution, or reconciliation for behavioral issues.
  • Monitoring and facilitating the student intervention process.
  • Working on extended resolve issues as available.
  • Recording students' progress in Power School.
  • Reporting intervention results and follow-up needs to staff.
  • Attending Clinical/Behavior Management meetings.
  • Meeting weekly with Lakeside School BCBA to review Behavior Support Plans.
  • Communicating with staff regarding issues pertinent to all staff.

General Responsibilities:

  • Attending staff meetings.
  • Fulfilling student monitoring/supervising responsibilities.
  • Coordinating student activities.
  • Attending Parent-Teacher Conferences.
  • Participating in professional development.

Transportation: The role includes completing five van runs per week, under the supervision of Lakeside School's Transportation Supervisor.
