Role Mission:
IDEA Intervention Specialists serve as Special Education teachers. They are responsible for the achievement and support of students with special needs. These teachers develop individualized plans and work with students who have a range of learning, cognitive, emotional, and physical disabilities. They provide in-class support across various subjects such as reading, writing, and math, based on outlined service minutes. They also teach content mastery for students with accommodations and support needs. The IDEA Intervention Specialist acts as a vital bridge between home and school for our highest-need students and their families.
What We Offer
Compensation:
- Starting salary for 0 years of experience: $51,500. The role is eligible for stipends ranging from $500 to $4,000 based on certifications, credentials, and campus leadership roles. - Additional hourly pay for after-school tutoring or Saturday school as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution (required).
- Experience in a Special Education classroom.
- Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist license for Mild/Moderate needs (required).
- Knowledge of core academic subjects, curriculum, and instruction.
- Ability to instruct, manage behavior, and adapt to various situations.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to facilitate IEP meetings and engage families effectively.
- Proven results with academically at-risk students.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement IEPs; assess and track student progress.
- Teach small groups, including students with diverse needs.
- Collect and analyze data to inform instruction.
- Communicate progress with families and staff.
- Implement state standards and IDEA curricula.
- Plan lessons and assessments, adjust as needed, and maintain gradebooks.
- Foster a positive classroom environment and school culture.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and school activities.
- Additional duties may include tutoring and after-school programs.
