Job summary

Bexley City School District is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Intervention Specialist at Bexley Middle School in Columbus, Ohio. The role involves developing IEPs, providing specialized instruction, and collaborating with general education staff to support students with disabilities.

The Substitute will report to the Building Principal and serve during a long‑term leave of absence from November 1, 2026 to February 1, 2026.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist license (e.g., Mild/Moderate, Moderate/Intensive, or other relevant K-12 licensure).
Successful completion of BCI/FBI background checks.
Satisfactory criminal background check in accordance with Ohio law.
Such alternatives to the above as deemed appropriate by the Superintendent.

Responsibilities

Specialized Instruction, Case Management, and Student Support.
Lead and participate in IEP meetings ensuring compliance with IDEA and state standards.
Develop and monitor IEP goals and collect progress data to inform instruction.
Collaborate with general education teachers to differentiate instruction for students with disabilities.
Utilize SDI and evidence‑based practices to meet diverse needs across K–12.
Maintain confidential student records and communicate progress to families and staff.
