Job summary

Kennedale ISD is seeking an instructional aide to support students under the supervision of a certified teacher. You will assist with reading, writing, and math, supervise students, and help implement classroom programs while maintaining confidentiality.

You will collect required documentation for students identified under Special Education, 504, or MTSS, participate in staff training, and support substitutes. This role involves indoor and outdoor duties and routine safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate’s degree or two years of college required.
  • Valid Texas educational aide certificate required.
  • Ability to assist in reading, writing, and mathematics.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance to students under the direction of the teacher; work with individual students or small groups.
  • Help supervise students throughout the school day, inside and outside the classroom. Includes lunchroom, bus, and playground duties.
  • Complete data collection tools for service implementation for special education teachers.
  • Help maintain neat and orderly classroom.
  • Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
  • Provide support to students during the intervention process.
  • Help supervise students throughout the school day; inside and outside classroom.
  • Make teacher aware of special needs or problems of individual students.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.
  • Participate in faculty meetings and special events as assigned.
  • Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.

Job description

Primary Purpose:

Provide instructional assistance to students under the direct supervision of a certifiedteacher. Assist in implementation of classroom programs, including self-help, behaviormanagement, and instruction programs. Collect required documentation of services forstudents identified under Special Education, 504, or MTSS.

Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
  • High school diploma or hold a General Educational Development (GED) certificate
  • Have met formal academic assessment, associate’s degree, or two years of study at aninstitution of higher learning*
  • Valid Texas educational aide certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics
  • Ability to work well with children
  • Ability to communicate effectively
Experience:
  • Experience working with children
