Job summary

ISD 622 is hiring an Intervention Education Assistant to support students in reading and math through oral reading, flash cards, testing, and reinforcement activities. The role requires assisting with tests, progress monitoring, and preparing instructional materials.

Start date is ASAP, schedule is Mon–Fri, 30 hours per week, with pay of $23.34 per hour plus $0.75/hr for a Bachelor's or $1.25/hr for a Master's degree; benefits per the labor agreement for EAs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with one of the approved additional qualifications.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with reading and math skills using oral reading and flash cards.
• Conduct informal tests and quizzes to assess mastery of material.
• Maintain test records and progress reports.
• Prepare and copy worksheets and learning materials.
• Organize students' work/records for conferences.
• Collaborate with classroom teacher on assigned skills.
• Attend planning sessions with Intervention staff.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED and one of the following:
  • An AA, AS, AAS (or higher) degree, or
  • Two years of post-secondary coursework (60 semester credits or 90 quarter credits) from an accredited institution of higher education which are applicable toward a bachelors degree, or

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent (preferably in Education)
• Prior education assistant/paraprofessional or teaching experience

Responsibilities

• Assist students with reading and math skills by use of oral reading, flash cards, conducting tests, and related instructional reinforcement activities
• Conduct tests and informal quizzes to assess students' mastering of material taught
• Assist in maintaining test records, preparing progress reports, and monitoring student progression
• Prepare and copy worksheets and learning materials
• Organize students' work/records for parent-teacher conferences
• Work with students on skills assigned by the classroom teacher
• Attend and participate in planning sessions with Intervention teaching staff
• Other related duties as assigned
