Job summary

Mechanicsburg Area School District is seeking a Sign Language Interpreter, effective immediately. This is a full-time, during the school year position.

The Interpreter is part of the IEP Team, providing sign language interpretation and/or transliteration between deaf/hard-of-hearing students and hearing staff and students in the educational setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must have a score of at least 3.5 (70%) on the Educational Interpreters Performance Assessment (EIPA) at the mode and level of communication as dictated by the student's communication plan and IEP or registered with the Office for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

Responsibilities

• Provide sign language interpretation and/or transliteration in the educational environment between deaf/hard-of-hearing students and hearing staff and students.
• Collaborate with the IEP Team to support the student's communication needs.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct in all duties.

SIGN LANGUAGE INTERPRETER

Mechanicsburg Area School District is seeking a Sign Language Interpreter, effective immediately. This is a full-time, during the school year position.

JOB SUMMARY: An Interpreter is a member of the IEP Team, whose primary function is to provide sign language interpretation and/or transliteration in the educational environment between the deaf and hard of hearing students and hearing staff and students.

QUALIFICATION: High School Diploma or GED. Must have a score of at least 3.5 (70%) on the Educational Interpreters Performance Assessment (EIPA) at the mode and level of communication as dictated by the student's communication plan and IEP or registered with the Office for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

Any individual who is to be considered for employment must provide school district officials with a valid Criminal History Record Clearanceform, a valid Child Abuse History Clearanceform, FBI Clearance, Act 168 form(s), and an I-9 (Employment Eligibility Verification) form.
