Job summary

Point Quest Group is seeking an Interpreter to provide real-time interpretation for students and families during school meetings in Texas. This part-time/PRN, in-person role requires collaboration with teachers, staff, and related service providers to support IEP goals.

The ideal candidate is English-proficient with one or more listed languages, has relevant experience, and can pass a simulated interpretation exercise in a school setting.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English and at least one listed language.
• Experience providing interpretation in professional, educational, healthcare, or community settings.
• Ability to pass the Simulated Interpretation Exercise.
• Strong verbal communication with real-time interpretation.
• Ability to pass background screening for school-aged populations.
• FERPA confidentiality protocol training.
• Signed FERPA acknowledgment on file before placement.

Responsibilities

Pay Range: $25-$35 and hour

Job Description: 2026/2027 School Year |$25-$35/hr. | Interpreter | Part-Time/ PRN | Various Locations -Texas | In-Person

About the Role

Provide interpretation services for students and families, for school meetings. This role requires strong real-time interpreting skills, collaboration with teachers, staff, and related service providers to support student/family during meetings and conferences.

Languages Needed

Vietnamese, Mandarin (simplified or traditional), Farsi, Arabic, Tagalog, Korean, Cantonese, Dari, Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Turkish, German, Russian

What We're Looking For

Must Have:

• Professional fluency in English and at least one of the following languages: Vietnamese, Mandarin (simplified or traditional),Farsi, Arabic, Tagalog, Korean, Cantonese, Dari, Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Turkish, German and Russian
• Experience providing interpretation in professional, educational, healthcare, or community settings.
• Ability to pass Simulated Interpretation Exercise.
• Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to interpret accurately in real time.
• Ability to pass background screening appropriate for school-aged populations.
• Educational Context Training includes FERPA confidentiality protocol.
• A signed FERPA acknowledgment on file before any placement.

Preferred:

• Bilingual education degree or linguistics background.
• National interpreter certification or completion of a recognized interpreter training program. ATA (American Translators Association) membership or certification. CCHI or CoreCHI certification, NBCMI certification.
• Experience working in school-based or educational settings
• Familiarity with IEP environments and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Strong communication, organization, and adaptability
