Job summary

UNC Health Care in Chapel Hill, NC seeks an interpreter to provide Spanish-English translation for patients and families across the system. This per diem role requires on-site work, night schedule, and interprets medical information in real-time to support care teams.

The candidate will maintain translation records, translate materials, and advocate for Spanish-speaking patients, ensuring accurate communication of health needs and cultural context.

• Translates and maintains UNC HealthCare printed material into Spanish. Actively searches for existing Spanish language materials pertaining to health care and hospitalization.

Summary:
Provides translation-interpreter services for Spanish-speaking patients and their families, as needed throughout the UNC Healthcare System.

Professional Experience Requirements:
* One (1) year of experience in a health care or human services setting.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
* Demonstrates a fluency in the Spanish and English languages. Possess extensive knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
