Job summary

Fuss & O’Neill, Inc. is seeking an engineering intern for a 12-week paid summer program in Hartford, CT, focusing on highway, roadway, and traffic engineering design. The internship runs full-time Monday through Friday, with flexibility and a collaborative environment.

You will gain hands-on experience on real client projects and work closely with seasoned engineers. Qualified candidates are pursuing civil or transportation engineering degrees, with a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in civil engineering and/or transportation engineering.
• 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D and/or similar programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with roadway and traffic engineering design, including signals, signs, and pavement markings.
• Support traffic studies, data collection, and analysis of traffic flow and patterns.
• Contribute to transportation planning and traffic impact studies, including permit applications.
• Conduct field visits, surveys, and construction support activities.
• Prepare technical reports and utilize design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Synchro.

The Transportation Business Unit is seeking an engineering intern to support a variety of projects, with a focus on highway, roadway, and traffic engineering design.

Our internship program is a 12-week paid summer program. We offer in depth work experience on real client projects in a supportive and collaborative environment. The position is full-time Monday through Friday and may sit out of Hartford, CT.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with roadway and traffic engineering design, including signals, signs, and pavement markings
• Support traffic studies, data collection, and analysis of traffic flow and patterns
• Contribute to transportation planning and traffic impact studies, including permit applications
• Conduct field visits, surveys, and construction support activities

Skills, Knowledge And Expertise

The base salary range for this role is indicated in the posting. This range reflects the company’s good faith estimate of the compensation for this position at the time of posting.
