Job summary

Gagosian invites applications for its Spring 2027 Internship Program in New York. You will work closely with a delegated department, supporting daily gallery operations and participating in lectures and team projects with staff and artists.

We seek candidates with a strong interest in art, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. The program runs January 12 through May 22, 2027 and is 100% in person at our New York galleries.

Qualifications

• Current 3rd or 4th year undergraduates, recent graduates, or postgraduate students in Art History or related fields.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interest in pursuing a career in the art world.
• Flexibility, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
• Prior museum, auction house, or gallery experience is preferable.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to meaningful projects within your designated department.
• Assist gallery staff with daily operations across sales, artist liaison, research, and events.
• Provide support to Front Desk with visitor inquiries and administrative tasks (mail, publications, stock, client meetings preparations).
• Assist with general office operations, including stocking supplies and maintaining inventory.
• Participate in gallery openings and events.
• Support ad hoc projects and other responsibilities as assigned.

Description

Gagosian is accepting applications for its Spring 2027 Internship Program in New York! Gagosian is a leading global art gallery that represents and exhibits some of the most important contemporary artists. Our internship program offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience and work closely with talented professionals in the art industry, while also participating in lectures and team projects with key members of Gagosian staff and artists. As an intern, you will be an integral part of the gallery's daily operations and contribute to our mission of promoting and shaping contemporary art.

In our internship program, you will work closely with a delegated department while supporting general gallery operations on a daily basis, gaining valuable experience, and cultivating lasting relationships. We are looking for applicants with a strong interest in art, who can work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, prioritize, and possess excellent communication skills.

Position Type

• 10am to 6pm, Monday through Friday or Tuesday through Saturday, with additional hours for openings and events.
• Full-time and part-time positions available.
• 100% in person, at one of our New York galleries.
• The internship program will run from January 12th - May 22nd

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Contributing to meaningful projects and recurring tasks within your designated department.
• Assisting gallery staff with daily operations, supporting colleagues across sales, artist liaison, research, and events.
• Providing support to Front Desk staff with visitor inquiries and essential administrative tasks (including mail send-outs, publication and stock management, preparing offices for client meetings, expenses).
• Assisting with general office operations, such as stocking supplies, organizing shared spaces, and maintaining inventory.
• Participating in gallery openings and events.
• Supporting ad hoc projects and other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A strong desire to pursue a career in the art world.
• Flexibility, attention to detail, and a desire to learn are essential.

Candidates should be available to work at least three days per week and for the full duration of the internship program.
