General Mills offers a robust 10-week Manufacturing & Engineering Associate (MEA) Internship designed to prep you for technical and managerial leadership roles. You will work across processing and packaging, gaining hands-on experience in 24/7 production environments while learning from skilled Operators, Technicians and Mechanics.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Engineering degree in Chemical, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, Food Process or Biological/Biosystems/Agricultural, or related degree.
• Graduating in Winter 2027 or Spring 2028.
• Strong academic record and leadership potential.

Responsibilities

• Build capability through exposure to processing, packaging and manufacturing systems.
• Gain front-line exposure to 24/7 production to drive improvements and reduce losses.
• Lead and coach Operators, Technicians and Mechanics to develop leadership skills.
• Manage programs for capital projects, new system startups or initiative leadership.

WHAT WILL I DO?

As a Manufacturing and Engineering Associate (MEA) Intern, you will experience a robust 10-week internship with hopes that you'll roll into our full-time MEA development program upon graduation. The internship is designed to prepare you for both technical and managerial leadership roles within General Mills.

• Build your capability through exposure and ownership of processing, packaging and broad manufacturing systems.
• Gain front line exposure to 24/7 production to leverage problem solving and learning agility while driving improvements and eliminating losses.
• Learn from and lead Operators, Technicians and Mechanics to grow your coaching, team building and people-development skills set.
• Manage programs to gain experience in capital project ownership, new system startups and / or initiative leadership.

WHERE WILL I WORK?

You will be placed at one of our manufacturing plant locations nationwide.

IS THIS YOU?

Minimum Qualifications:

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Engineering degree in: Chemical, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, Food Process or Biological/Biosystems/Agricultural, or related degree
• Qualifications for MEA Milling roles: Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Milling Science, Food Science, or related degree
• Graduating in Winter 2027 or Spring 2028

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong interpersonal skills, high learning agility, analytical and decision-making skills
• Demonstrated people, technical, and process leadership skills, with a proactive approach to taking initiative and contributing to team success

The hourly rate for this position is $28.85/hour. General Mills strives to provide fair and competitive pay that reflects your skills, experience, and academic background. The pay for this role considers many factors, including, but not limited to, your degree program, major, and year in school.
