Job summary

Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc. invites applications for an Internship in Future Systems Project (International Student) at its Tuscaloosa County campuses.

The role supports a large IT systems enhancement project, Future Systems Landscape 2.0, in a global supply chain context. Expect hands-on project coordination, process documentation, data analysis, dashboard development, and risk management support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related area, or equivalent mix of education and experience.
• Fluent in English and German.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel).
• Experience with BIC Process Design and SAP Signavio.

Responsibilities

• Manage and organize day to day project needs, the project structure, time line and due dates.
• Support process documentation into database and translate German process steps.
• Analyze Transit Times and Propose Improvements.
• Analyze historical data to understand trends and propose data driven changes.
• Create Visual Dashboards for Global Supply Chain Insights.
• Develop Metrics to Track Global Logistics Performance.
• Develop a Risk Management Framework for Customs Compliance.
• Identify and Implement Cost Savings in International Transport.
• Attend daily team meetings and coordinate project meetings.

Essential Functions:

This will be a project management support role for a large scale IT systems enhancement project; Future Systems Landscape 2.0:

• Manage and organize day to day project needs, the project structure, time line and due dates
• Support process documentation into data base and translate German process steps
• Analyze Transit Times and Propose Improvements
• Analyze historical data to understand trends and propose data driven changes
• Create Visual Dashboards for Global Supply Chain Insights
• Develop Metrics to Track Global Logistics Performance
• Develop a Risk Management Framework for Customs Compliance
• Identify and Implement Cost Savings in International Transport

Other Regular Daily Tasks:

• Attend daily team meetings, support the Warehouse Administration team, coordinate project meetings.

Qualifications

Education, Experience and Necessary Skills all must be met in order to qualify for position.

Education :

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or in a related area, and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills:

• Fluent in English and German
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (including PowerPoint and Excel)
• Experience with BIC Process Design and SAP Signavio

Preferred Start Date:

• January 2027
• Paid internship - hourly rate $18
• Coverage of visa costs
• $700 housing bonus

Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in University or in a gap year between Bachelor'sand Master’s degree
• Studies outside of the U.S.A (we are not accepting applications from students who are currently studying in the U.S.A)
• A minimum of 3semesters of studies in relevant field of study
• Available for a minimum of 6months
