Job summary

Dynamic Catholic in the Cincinnati area is seeking a Front-End UX Intern to bridge design and development. You’ll translate Figma designs into accessible, responsive interfaces and contribute to polished UI across our digital products.

Work with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, collaborate with designers and engineers to build reusable components, improve UI consistency, and learn modern design system practices. Paid housing is provided for interns in the Greater Cincinnati area.

Qualifications

• Current student studying HCI, UX, Web Development, CS, or related field.
• Interest in UX and front-end development demonstrated through projects.
• Proficiency with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Familiarity with Figma or similar design tools.
• Interest in reusable UI components, accessibility, and responsive design.
• Ability to think critically about user experience and communicate clearly.
• Portfolio or project demonstrating implemented web interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Build and refine front-end UI using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and modern frameworks as applicable.

• Improve consistency across buttons, forms, navigation, layouts, and UI patterns.
• Support UX by identifying confusing flows, accessibility gaps, or usability issues.

Overview

We are looking for a Front-End UX Intern to help bridge the gap between design and development. This role is ideal for a student who is interested in both user experience and hands-on front-end coding. The intern will support the creation of polished, accessible, and reusable user interface work across our digital products.

This is not a traditional graphic design internship. The right candidate should enjoy translating designs into working interfaces, thinking through user flows, improving UI consistency, and learning how modern product teams connect design, code, and component systems.

What You’ll Do

• Build and refine front-end UI using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks when applicable
• Translate Figma designs, wireframes, or product requirements into responsive user interfaces
• Help improve consistency across buttons, forms, navigation, layouts, and other UI patterns
• Support UX improvements by identifying confusing flows, layout issues, accessibility gaps, or usability friction
• Work with designers and developers to turn visual concepts into reusable, production-ready components
• Document UI patterns, component usage, and front-end decisions so teams can work more consistently
• Test interfaces across screen sizes and browsers to ensure a polished user experience
• Participate in design reviews, product discussions, and front-end implementation planning
• Learn and apply accessibility, responsive design, and design system best practices

What We’re Looking For

• Current student studying Human-Computer Interaction, UX Design, Interaction Design, Web Development, Computer Science, Digital Media, or a related field
• Interest in both UX/product design and front-end development
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Familiarity with Figma or similar design tools
• Interest in reusable UI components, design systems, accessibility, and responsive design
• Ability to think critically about user experience, not just visual appearance
• Portfolio, class project, or personal project showing implemented web interfaces
• Clear communicator who is comfortable working with both design and engineering stakeholders

What Success Looks Like

By the end of the internship, this person will have contributed to real front-end UI work, helped improve the consistency and usability of our product experience, and built a stronger understanding of how UX, design systems, and engineering come together in a modern product team.
