Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Front-End UX Intern in the Cincinnati area to bridge design and development. You will translate designs into accessible, reusable UI components and contribute to modern product teams.

This hands-on internship focuses on building polished interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with guidance from designers and engineers. Ideal candidates are current students in HCI/UX or related fields who enjoy both UX thinking and front-end coding, with a portfolio showcasing web

Qualifications

• Current student studying HCI, UX, or related field.
• Interest in both UX/product design and front-end development.
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Familiarity with Figma or similar design tools.
• Portfolio or projects demonstrating implemented web interfaces.
• Clear communicator with design and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Build and refine front-end UI using HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
• Translate Figma designs, wireframes, or product requirements into responsive user interfaces.
• Help improve consistency across buttons, forms, navigation, layouts, and other UI patterns.
• Support UX improvements by identifying confusing flows, layout issues, accessibility gaps, or usability friction.
• Work with designers and developers to turn visual concepts into reusable, production-ready components.
• Document UI patterns, component usage, and front-end decisions so teams can work more consistently.
• Test interfaces across screen sizes and browsers to ensure a polished user experience.
• Participate in design reviews, product discussions, and front-end implementation planning.
• Learn and apply accessibility, responsive design, and design system best practices.
