Job summary

Infineon Technologies AG in San Jose seeks a graduate engineering student or recent graduate to help develop and validate firmware for USB‑PD controller solutions. You will work on reference designs, perform interoperability tests, and author clear usage guides for Type‑C and USB‑PD applications.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics, Computer Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in embedded system design and microcontroller programming.
  • Lab skills with oscilloscopes, analyzers, and bench instruments.
  • Familiarity with USB, USB-PD, Type-C, I2C, SPI, UART and related protocol troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of analog circuits, switching regulators, LDOs, DC-DC converters, and power distribution debugging is a bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and customize firmware for reference designs and USB-PD controller solutions.
  • Validate firmware and hardware against customer requirements and specs.
  • Perform interoperability testing on reference and customer designs for USB‑C and USB‑PD ecosystems.
  • Write application notes and usage guides for Type‑C and USB‑PD applications.
  • Use lab equipment to debug interfaces and power circuits during bring‑up.
  • Record test results, log issues, and communicate findings to engineering teams.

Key responsibilities in your new role
  • Firmware Development: Develop and customize firmware for reference designs and Infineon USB‑PD controller solutions

Salary pay information

Location: San Jose, CA, United States
Indicative salary range: US$ 27.00 – US$ 36.50 (Hourly rate will depend on the highest level of education completed).
