Job summary

The Perryman Company is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated Electrical Engineering intern to join our team in the summer of 2027. The candidate will assist in assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and modifying electrical equipment and systems.

This will include maintaining existing equipment and the development of new equipment and processes. Key accountabilities include assembling, testing, and troubleshooting motors, motor controls, switch panels, PLCs, HMIs, hydraulic and pneumatic

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical/computer/automation engineering or related field.
• Ability to work under supervision in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects.
• AutoCAD knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, test, and troubleshoot motors, motor controls, switch panels, PLCs, HMIs, hydraulic and pneumatic controls.
• Modify electrical systems to correct functional deviations.
• Diagnose root cause of electrical failures.
• Develop wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and engineering specifications.
• Perform periodic systems testing.
• Identify potential areas of process improvement.
• Collaborate with engineering team in reviewing data to identify and assess equipment needs and/or efficiencies.
