Job summary

HLR is seeking a Junior or Senior Civil Engineering student for an internship to gain hands-on experience in the transportation sector. You’ll assist with active roadway construction projects and observe daily operations across our firm’s services.

The program is designed for students currently in school and authorized to work in the U.S.; drivers license and reliable transportation are required. Hours May–Mid-August vary with workload and weather.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Civil Engineering degree as a Junior or Senior.
• Previous internship or experience with construction, municipal, roadway, traffic or structural work is beneficial.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
• Eager to learn all aspects of the engineering process.

Responsibilities

• Assist with active roadway construction projects.
• Observe how the daily operations of the firm work firsthand.
• Participate in the wide range of services offered by the firm.
• Be available for the internship period late May/June through mid-August.

Are you a Junior or Senior in an accredited Civil Engineering program? Our robust internship program will introduce you to real-world engineering projects in the transportation industry. HLR strives to grow our intern's knowledge of the engineering industry by providing practical, educational opportunities to participate in the daily operations of our company and to observe how the industry works firsthand. As an intern, you will assist with active roadway construction projects and will be exposed to the wide-range of services that our firm has to offer. Please note that our internships are for students who are currently in school. All students must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Junior or Senior pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering.
• Previous internship or experience with construction, municipal, roadway, traffic or structural experience is beneficial.
• Valid drivers license and reliable transportation is required.
• Eager to learn all aspects of the engineering process.
• Strong written, verbal, computer, and organizational skills.
• Available to work from late May / June through Mid-August.
• Full Time/Hours vary based on workload and weather.

Salary: $20 - $24 per hour
