Job summary

Apogee is seeking an International Treaties and Agreements Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the Headquarters United States Air Force at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA. Qualifications

  • Must be a US citizen and maintain TS/SCI level clearance.

  • Serve as on-site Treaty SME and primary Government point of contact for treaty- and agreement-related matters.
  • Provide guidance on Air Force requirements for treaties and agreements.
  • Monitor Air Force activities for treaty applicability and field policy compliance questions.
  • Support HAF/A10 with historical background and current treaty implications.
  • Draft written recommendations on treaty-related policy.
  • Deliver professional briefings to Air Force senior leaders.
  • Respond promptly to Government questions and concerns.
  • Alert the Government to potential treaty issues.

Overview

Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for an International Treaties and Agreements SME to support Headquarters United States Air Force (HAF/A10) in providing Strategic Deterrence and Nuclear Integration. This effort delivers technical, analytical, operational, programmatic, and planning subject-matter expertise to HAF/A10 and its component divisions to advance national security strategic plans, policies, concepts, and initiatives. Support areas include international treaties and agreements, the Foreign Clearance Program, Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction, nuclear stockpile and enterprise management, missile defense, nuclear deterrence research and education, strategic policy, ancillary IT support, and program management.

This is a full-time position, located on-site at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA.

This position is contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as on-site Treaty SME and primary Government point of contact for treaty- and agreement-related matters
  • Provide overall guidance on Air Force requirements for government-identified treaties and agreements
  • Monitor all Air Force activities for treaty applicability and field policy and compliance questions
  • Support HAF/A10 International Treaties and Agreements with historical background, current and future treaty implications, and professional opinions
  • Draft written recommendations representing Air Force positions on treaty-related policy and documentation
  • Deliver professional briefings of recommendations to audiences from Air Force senior leaders to base TCOs
  • Respond promptly to Government questions, concerns, and comments
  • Proactively alert the Government to potential treaty issues and recommend mitigation actions
Qualifications

Minimum Experience:

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain TS/SCI level clearance

Education: Bachelor's degree

Years of Experience: Twenty-five (25) years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline, including fifteen (15) years of DoD experience

Additional Experience

  • Knowledge and understanding of specific treaties/agreements

    • New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (NST)
    • Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC)
    • Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT)
Preferred Qualifications

Education: Master's degree

Years of Experience: Twenty (20) years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline, including twelve (12) years of DoD experience
