Arespected and growing national law firm is seeking an experienced Partner-levelExport Controls attorney to join and help expand its Washington, DC-areapractice. The position may be based in Washington, DC or Northern Virginia.

Thesuccessful candidate will have substantial experience advising U.S. andinternational companies on sophisticated export controls, economic sanctions,trade compliance, and related national security matters. The attorney will joinan established national platform with opportunities to collaborate acrosscomplementary regulatory, transactional, government contracts, and nationalsecurity practices.

Representative Experience

Candidatesshould have significant experience in several of the following areas:

• U.S. export controls, including the EAR and ITAR
• Economic sanctions and OFAC compliance
• Export licensing and regulatory strategy before the Departments of Commerce,State, and Treasury
• Internal investigations involving potential export control or sanctionsviolations
• Voluntary self-disclosures and related regulatory matters
• Development and implementation of export control and sanctions complianceprograms
• Cross-border transactions involving trade and national securityconsiderations
• CFIUS reviews, filings, transaction risk assessments, and regulatory strategy
• Counseling clients regarding evolving U.S. trade and national securityregulations

Qualifications

Thefirm is particularly interested in an experienced attorney with a strongsubstantive background in export controls and international trade, demonstratedclient-development capabilities, and an interest in continuing to grow apractice within a collaborative national law firm environment.

Aportable practice of at least $600,000 is required.

Candidatesshould possess strong client-management, analytical, written, and interpersonalskills and the ability to work effectively across practice areas on complexregulatory and transactional matters.

Compensation

Competitive basecompensation commensurate with experience and practice, together with a performance-based compensation structure. Actual compensation will depend uponexperience, qualifications, portable business, market considerations, and otherrelevant factors.
