A highly respected and growing public accounting firm is looking to add an International Tax Manager to their team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced international tax professional to work with a diverse client base, advise on complex cross-border tax matters, and play a key role in the continued growth of the firm's international tax practice.
This position offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated tax planning and compliance matters while building strong client relationships, mentoring staff, and contributing to business development.
Responsibilities
- Advise clients on international tax planning, compliance, and tax-efficient strategies
- Manage and oversee complex international tax consulting, research, and compliance engagements
- Work on inbound and outbound international tax matters involving businesses, individuals, trusts, and estates
- Advise clients on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, and restructuring
- Assist with matters involving GILTI, Subpart F, FDII, foreign tax credits, tax treaties, IC-DISC, and E&P
- Oversee and review international tax filings, including Forms 5471, 8865, 8858, 8990 series, 1040NR, 1116, and 8938
- Assist clients with expatriate taxation and the U.S. taxation of foreign persons
- Advise on cross-border estate, gift, and trust matters
- Work with transfer pricing and other international tax specialists as needed
- Respond to tax authority inquiries and examinations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and other professional advisors
- Identify opportunities to expand services and contribute to business development
- Mentor and develop staff while providing technical guidance on complex international tax matters
- Stay current on changes in domestic and international tax laws and regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of international tax experience in public accounting or a related environment
- CPA required
- MST or other advanced tax degree preferred
- Strong knowledge of both inbound and outbound international tax
- Experience with international tax planning, consulting, and compliance
- Knowledge of corporate international tax compliance and related international tax forms
- Experience with cross-border M&A, restructuring, or other international transactions preferred
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Ability to lead, mentor, and develop tax professionals
- Comfortable participating in networking and business development activities
