Job summary

Language Services Associates, Inc. is seeking qualified telephonic interpreters to join its network of independently contracted interpreters for Yupik-English calls.

You will provide on-demand interpretation to LEP individuals across diverse settings, ensuring accurate communication and strict confidentiality. Ideal candidates have full fluency in English and Yupik, strong tech skills (web-based platforms, email, word processing), and at least 1 year of interpreting experience.

Qualifications

• Full fluency in English and Yupik required.
• Proficient with web-based platforms, email, and word processing.
• Quiet, secure workspace free from outside noises required.
• 1+ years of professional interpreting experience preferred.
• Industry certifications/trainings (CMI, CCHI, Bridging the Gap, etc.) preferred.

As an Internationally based telephonic interpreter for Yupik in LSA’s network of Independently Contracted Interpreters, you are responsible for handling telephone calls on demand and facilitating language communication for the Limited English Proficient (LEP) community in a variety of settings. the company is continuously accepting qualified interpreters!

Responsibilities:

• Provide effective telephonic remote interpreting
• Answer inbound calls in a timely manner
• Provide superior customer service
• Adhere to Code of Professional Conduct, including maintaining strict standards of confidentiality
• Adhere to all policies and procedures, including professional interpretation protocols and industry specific best practices

Qualifications/Experience:

• Full fluency in both English and Yupik
• Technology proficient (web-based platforms, email, Microsoft Word)
• An interpreting space that is quiet, secure, and free from outside noises
• 1+ years of professional interpreting experience preferred
• Industry specific certifications/trainings preferred (CMI, CCHI, Bridging the Gap, Cross-Cultural, etc.)
