Job summary

First Citizens Bank in Santa Clara seeks an International Innovation Banking Associate II - Global Gateway to support portfolio management and client onboarding for technology and innovation clients in Asia, primarily Greater China.

The International Innovation Banking Associate II - Global Gateway assists in portfolio management, client onboarding, and supporting cross-sell opportunities within the technology and innovation ecosystem. Working closely with Relationship Managers, this position enables exceptional client experience and positions products with prospective clients that contribute to the growth of Global Gateway.

The Associate II will be focusing on helping manage our portfolio of banking clients based in the Asia region, primarily greater China.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Duties & Responsibilities:

Portfolio Management and Product Delivery

• Manage the prospect and channel experience, capture prospect/client information in CRM.
• Begin to identify prospects, new trends, and opportunities in the startup ecosystem.
• Expand existing relationships and begin building internal/external networks.
• Support strategic initiatives; generate ideas on improvements to team go-to-market strategies.
• Independently conduct client outreach calls and meetings.
• Begin to manage sub-segment of portfolio based on sector, life stage, or geo focus.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree with 1 years of experience in banking/financial services and/or innovation/venture capital industry experience of HS Diploma or GED and 5 years of experience.

Preferred:

• Prior knowledge or experience in the Asia market or economy
• Fluency in Mandarin Chinese strongly preferred
• Flexibility to work outside regular U.S. business hours to support clients across Asia time zones
• Finance, Economics or Business degree; MBA or relevant advanced degree
• Strong interest in the innovation and venture capital industry and desire to understand market dynamics, sector trends, and investor relationships, having familiarity with platforms like Pitchbook and other resources
• Able to prioritize tasks with effective time management in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail, analytical, and comfortable making data-informed decisions
• Strong relationship management skills
• A sense of urgency and proactivity
• Strong focus and ownership of the overall client experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Additional Information

The base pay for this position is generally between $96,000 - $128,000 annually. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
