Job summary

Qualifications

  • Recent graduate (0-1 years) with a Masters or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering focused on power electronics preferred.
  • Solid foundation in design, modeling, and validation of power converters for data center and telecom applications.
  • Hands-on experience with closed-loop control of power converters using digital controllers and real-time platforms.
  • Thrives in agile environments with strong collaboration, communication, and adaptability.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • US citizen or green card holder; travel and international work capability.

Responsibilities

  • Assignment 1 (6 months, San Jose, CA) design and simulate HV intermediate bus converters for high-efficiency AI servers.
  • Assignment 2 (6 months, El Segundo, CA) implement hot-swap solutions with fault tolerance for IT rack power delivery.
  • Assignment 3 (6 months, Taipei, Taiwan) study system integration and dynamic power management for DC-powered IT racks.

You’ll rotate through three assignments in different departments, including one abroad, gaining hands‑on experience, global exposure, and a deep understanding of our business. As part of Infineon's International Graduate Program

As a System Application Engineer IGP, you will focus on the optimal design of efficient, intelligent, reliable system power delivery solutions for DC powered AI server IT rack. This position is a part of dedicated engineering talent development program with 3 assignments in US and Asia region.

Key responsibilities in your new role
  • Assignment 1 (Duration: 6 months; location: San Jose, CA, USA) : Optimal design of High efficiency 800V to 50V/12V/6V DC/DC power solutions for future AI servers. Detail work include design analysis, simulation and testing of HV intermediate bus converters
  • Assignment 2 (Duration: 6 months; location: EL Segundo, CA, USA) : Solution implementation of comprehensive hot swap solutions with fault tolerance and black box features for reliable power delivery of IT rack. Detail work include the design, validation and documentation of Intelligent hotswap demos with built‑in black box features
  • Assignment 3 (Duration: 6 month; Location: Taipei, Taiwan) : Deep‑dive study of system integration of power delivery building blocks and Dynamic power management of DC powered IT rack. Detail work include power tree analysis, power redundance analysis, system level power management analysis. Engineering work in our Taipei office and technical support to ODMs with US OEMs will included in this assignment

Final Placement: Upon the completion of International assignments, the position will be converted to a full‑time employee in Infineon’s silicon valley headquarters in San Jose, CA

  • Language : Fluent written and spoken English
  • US citizen or green card holder: This position requires a valid U.S. passport and the ability to travel and work internationally

Salary pay information: Location Indicative salary range San Jose, CA United States Wage range that the company expects to pay for a qualified candidate: US$ 120,000 – US$ 150,000 Hourly rate will depend on the highest level of education completed.
