All positions are considered on-site roles. After six months of employment, some positions may be eligible to apply for a hybrid work arrangement based on job responsibilities, operational needs, supervisor approval, and Dallas College policy. Academic (Faculty) positions require an on-campus presence, even when teaching online courses, in accordance with state law.
The student assistant helps support various departmental operations. Duties include but are not limited to assisting visitors by directing them to appropriate resources, compiling data for departmental projects, providing support for programs and events, and performing technical and/or administrative duties.
Must be mature, responsible, organized and be able to pay attention to details. Work independently to find resources necessary to complete given tasks. Be able to handle confidential matters and conduct him/herself in a professional manner. Problem solving is required to identify issues and create action plans. Ability to schedule activities, collect data and when needed use program-related equipment. The ability to plan/prioritize organize and accomplish assigned duties.
Typical positions for work study student assistants are office assistants, assistant technicians, lab assistants, aids to instructors/deans, athletic assistants, etc.
