Job description

Performance Consulting is a highly visible internal consulting group within Consumer and Community Banking (CCB) that partners with senior business and functional leaders across JPMorgan Chase to translate strategy into results. Work spans diagnostic problem solving and operating model design through piloting solutions and scaling execution. Engagements are C-suite- and senior leader-sponsored. Our consultants accelerate their careers by working on impactful, high-visibility initiatives across a variety of domains and joining a highly collaborative team that prioritizes learning, professional development, and mentorship.

As an Internal Strategy & Process Consulting Lead (Vice President), you will lead day-to-day delivery of complex, high-impact engagements, partnering with Executive Directors and senior sponsors. You will translate ambiguous executive problems into an engagement architecture, define workstreams and the analytical agenda, direct team delivery, synthesize findings into decision-quality recommendations, and manage senior stakeholders through critical decisions. You will partner with stakeholders across Lines of Business and Corporate Functions, including Product, Data, Technology, Operations, Finance, Risk, Controls, Legal, and Compliance, to drive outcomes in a highly-matrixed environment.

You will own the engagement narrative and operating rhythm, lead and develop consulting teams, and guide clients and teams in identifying and shaping AI-enabled transformation opportunities that deliver measurable value. You will contribute to AI-enabled modernization by helping identify and size automation/GenAI/advanced analytics opportunities, translating them into implementable roadmaps, and supporting implementation coordination, adoption, and benefits tracking. You will coach junior team members and raise the bar on analytic rigor, executive storytelling, and execution quality.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead day-to-day delivery of complex transformation engagements from diagnostic through design, recommendation, pilot, roadmap, and implementation support.
  • Structure ambiguous executive problems into a clear engagement architecture, workstreams, hypotheses, analytical priorities, milestones, and decision points.
  • Direct multiple interconnected workstreams; challenge analyses, identify gaps, ensure synthesis across the team, and maintain a high bar for consulting quality.
  • Manage senior stakeholders and executive sponsors, align divergent perspectives, navigate dependencies, and drive decisions in a highly-matrixed environment.
  • Own the engagement storyline and build/deliver executive-ready communications that translate complex evidence into clear implications, recommendations, and actions.
  • Establish and run the engagement operating rhythm, including team management, workstream governance, issue/decision tracking, stakeholder updates, and quality assurance.
  • Guide teams and clients in identifying, prioritizing, and shaping GenAI, automation, and advanced analytics opportunities, including use-case definition, value sizing, business cases, implementation roadmaps, adoption considerations, and benefits realization.
  • Lead, coach, and develop consulting teams through effective delegation, ongoing feedback, mentorship, and quality review; foster an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing teams environment that promotes continuous learning, shared accountability, and professional growth
  • Actively contribute to the broader Performance Consulting organization by sharing knowledge, strengthening consulting capabilities and ways of working, developing talent, and championing a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Approximately 6+ years of relevant experience in management consulting, internal consulting, strategy, transformation, or comparable roles, with demonstrated impact.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex consulting engagements or multiple interconnected workstreams, including team direction, senior stakeholder management, synthesis, and decision support.
  • Advanced structured problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to create clarity from ambiguous, cross-functional business problems.
  • Strong analytical judgment and ability to direct data-driven diagnosis, quantify value, challenge conclusions, and translate analysis into recommendations.
  • Executive-level written and verbal communication, including concise storytelling, facilitation, and presentation to senior leaders.
  • Demonstrated experience using GenAI/LLM tools to enhance consulting delivery and identifying AI-enabled opportunities in business transformation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams through coaching, delegation, feedback, and quality review, while fostering collaboration, inclusion, continuous learning, and shared accountability
  • Intellectual curiosity and demonstrated ability to develop SME-level understanding of new topics quickly.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • External management consulting experience, particularly leading strategy, operations, or transformation engagements.
  • Financial services or experience delivering transformation in a regulated environment with governance and controls considerations.
  • Experience partnering with Product, Data, and Technology on GenAI, automation, advanced analytics, or other technology-enabled transformation.
