Job summary

Pepsi Bottling Ventures LLC in North Carolina seeks a sanitation technician to keep our production areas clean and compliant with GMP and safety standards. You will clean processing equipment, maintain sanitation logs, and support microblend operations as needed.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, basic math, and the ability to follow procedures; forklift certification is a plus. This full-time, on-site role requires teamwork and flexibility to work shifts in a wet environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year production or janitorial experience preferred.
  • Basic math skills and chemical safety preferred.
  • Good Manufacturing Practices background preferred.
  • Must be able to complete forklift certification.
  • Ability to follow written procedures and safety instructions.
  • Ability to work in a team and in shifting hours.

Responsibilities

Job Description

PURPOSE OF THE JOB Assures that products are manufactured in a clean and sanitary environment that complies with federal, state, and PCNA guidelines.

RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES
  • Internally cleans and sanitizes processing equipment.
  • Externally cleans and sanitizes processing equipment.
  • Cleans non-processing equipment.
  • Obtains samples for micro-analysis.
  • Operates Microblend for morning start-up.
  • Maintains sanitation logs and reports to document plant and equipment cleaning.
  • Removes trash from areas inside the filling enclosure, in the plant from sweeping the floors, and work stations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year experience in production or janitorial experience preferred.
  • Basic math skills and chemical safety preferred.
  • Good Manufacturing Practices background preferred.
  • Must be able to successfully complete forklift certification.
  • Good written and oral communication, ability to follow written procedures, ability to read and understand chemical use instructions and precautions, enjoy working off shifts in a wet environment, attention to detail, and safety.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Must be able to work hours necessary to complete assigned tasks.
ESSENTIAL MENTAL AND PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS
  • Mental Functions: Diversified and complex job requiring continuous and sustained mental effort and alertness or very close work requiring constant visual attention.
  • Physical Functions: Frequently (34%-66%) required to walk, climb, stand, and lift up to 50 pounds. Occasionally (0%-33%) required to sit.
EQUIPMENT USED

Personal protective equipment (PPE), Floor scrubber, Foaming equipment, Brushes, brooms, squeegees, Calculator, Chemical dispensing equipment, and Clean-In-Place (CIP) equipment., and forklift.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must be able to speak, read, and write English proficiently.
