Job summary

Fortune Brands Innovations is seeking a forklift operator to safely handle materials and support daily production demands. You will operate powered industrial trucks with a focus on safety, use scanners and ERP systems to manage materials, and perform daily PIT inspections in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Preferred candidates have prior PIT experience in manufacturing and can obtain Fork Lift Certification. This role reinforces safety culture while contributing to meeting production goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent manufacturing experience.
• Ability to obtain Fork Lift Certification.
• Preferred: prior experience operating powered industrial trucks in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate powered industrial trucks, prioritizing associate safety over production.
• Move products using various PIT types (sit-down and stand-up).
• Use handheld scanner and systems (Great Plains, E21, MES) to place and retrieve materials accurately.
• Conduct daily PIT inspections.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or group lead.

You will play a key role in ensuring we meet daily production demands while also complying with our expectations for safe PIT operation.

Your Role

• Safely operate powered industrial truck - always putting associate safety above production output.
• Move product utilizing various types of powered industrial trucks, including sit down, and stand up.
• Utilize Handheld scanner and E-21 or Great Plains to accurately place and retrieve needed materials in a timely manner.
• Responsible for daily PIT Inspections.
• Other duties as assigned or defined by the area Supervisor or Group Lead.

Basic Qualifications

• High School Graduate/HSE or equivalent manufacturing experience
• Ability to obtain Fork Lift Certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience operating a powered industrial truck in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Work Environment

• While performing the duties of this job, the associate works around mechanical hazards, noise and or vibration daily. Extreme temperatures, wetness / humidity and being outdoors.

Mathematical Skills

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Computer Skills

• Ability to run respective inventory system (Great Plains, E21, MES etc.).

Language Skills

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to complete daily Pre-Use Inspection Sheets.

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $47,860 USD - $57,200 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
