State of South Carolina is seeking a seasoned officer to oversee the Law Enforcement Division's Hunter/Boater Education Programs and to serve as the media liaison. Qualifications

  • Related law enforcement experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-to-year basis.
  • Ability to develop and manage budgets; strong written and oral communication abilities; planning and supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day leadership, administration, and supervision of the division's education and outreach programs.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with individuals and organizations whose interests intersect with SCDNR Law Enforcement programs.
  • Work directly with the Colonel as the division's PIO, monitoring emerging issues and public information needs.
  • Assist executive leadership in developing outreach strategies for emerging and sensitive issues.
  • Ensure communications are accurate, timely, professional, and compliant with policy and laws.
  • Oversee projects under SFAA, JBRC, and CPIP processes.
  • Manage equipment, instructional materials, vehicles, firearms training resources, technology, and other assets.
  • Assist with the agency's strategic planning process and goals.
  • Serve as Law Enforcement Division liaison for the Agency Accident Review Panel and FBI Task Force.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

A bachelor's degree and three (3) years of SCDNR Class 1 law enforcement supervisory experience, preferably in natural resources (wildlife) enforcement. Related law enforcement experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-to-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to develop and manage budgets. Above average written and oral communication abilities, planning and supervisory experience. Knowledgeable of SC game, fish and boating laws.
