Job summary

CLA is seeking an Internal Operations Intern for Sacramento, CA to gain hands-on experience with client tax documents, intake, and workflow in a professional setting. Begin January 2027 with an anticipated end in April 2027, contributing to organizing, processing, and delivering client information on time.

The role requires pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, a willingness to learn, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to client sites.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and organizes client incoming tax documents.
• Assists with intake of tax information and prepares for routing.
• Keeps client documents tracked and current.
• Organizes scans and processes tax documents.
• Assembles client tax returns following procedures.
• Assists team in meeting government deadlines.
• E-filing and other final delivery steps.
• Supports preparation of informational tax documents.
• Provides general operational support as requested.

Primary Responsibilities

• Reviews and organizes client incoming tax documents.
• Assists with intake of tax information and prepares for routing.
• Ensures all client documents are being tracked and kept current.
• Organizes, scans and processes tax documents.
• Assembles client tax returns following established procedures.
• Assists team in meeting strict government deadlines.
• E-filing and other final delivery type steps.
• Other responsibilities may include preparation of informational tax documents.
• General operational support and other responsibilities/tasks as requested.

Minimum Requirements

• Working towards the achievement of a bachelor’s degree – Degree in Accounting or Finance strongly preferred.
• Willingness to learn new technologies.
• Proficient with Microsoft (MS) Windows and Office products.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to client sites.

The compensation range for this position in California is: $23 - $27
