Job summary

CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen) in Illinois is seeking Internal Operations Interns across Bloomington, Champaign, Dixon and Peoria. The expected start is January 2027 with an end date around April 2027.

Interns will review and organize client tax documents, assist with intake, and help ensure timely, accurate tax processing across multiple office locations. Ideal candidates are working toward a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, with readiness to learn new technologies and strong MS Office

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree, ideally in Accounting or Finance.
• Willingness to learn new technologies.
• Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Office products.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to client sites.

Responsibilities

• Review and organize client incoming tax documents.
• Assist with intake of tax information and routing preparation.
• Track and keep client documents current.
• Organize, scan and process tax documents.
• Assemble client tax returns following procedures.
• Assist team in meeting government deadlines.
• Handle e-filing and related delivery steps.
• Prepare informational tax documents as needed.
• Provide general operational support.

Primary Responsibilities

• Reviews and organizes client incoming tax documents.
• Assists with intake of tax information and prepares for routing.
• Ensures all client documents are being tracked and kept current.
• Organizes, scans and processes tax documents.
• Assembles client tax returns following established procedures.
• Assists team in meeting strict government deadlines.
• E-filing and other final delivery type steps.
• Other responsibilities may include preparation of informational tax documents.
• General operational support and other responsibilities/tasks as requested.

Minimum Requirements

• Working towards the achievement of a bachelor’s degree – Degree in Accounting or Finance strongly preferred.
• Willingness to learn new technologies.
• Proficient with Microsoft (MS) Windows and Office products.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to client sites.

The compensation range for this position in Illinois is: $16.00 - $21.00
