Qualifications

  • Veterinary Assistant Certification preferred but not required.
  • Experience in veterinary support roles is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with Fear Free handling is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily workflow in Internal Medicine and assist with patient care.
  • Safely restrain patients using low-stress handling techniques.
  • Obtain and document accurate patient histories.
  • Process and prepare diagnostic samples.
  • Assist with procedural setup and anticipate doctors' needs.
  • Educate clients about patient care and treatment plans.
  • Coordinate appointments and follow-up communications.
  • Maintain department cleanliness and organization.

Job description

Upstate Veterinary Specialties is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and detail-oriented Internal Medicine Veterinary Assistant to join our growing specialty team. In this role, you will support our Internal Medicine department by assisting with patient care, client communication, diagnostics, and daily workflow.
