Job summary

Pieper Memorial Veterinary Center in Middletown, CT, is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our Internal Medicine team. This role offers a challenging caseload with collaboration across board-certified specialists and skilled support staff.

CVT preferred, experienced non-credentialed technicians encouraged to apply. Pay range is $22.50–$30.00/hour; full-time, 4 shifts weekly of 10 hours each, with on-call rotation and holiday coverage requirements.

Qualifications

• Previous veterinary technician experience required.
• Strong anesthesia knowledge and monitoring skills required.
• Ability and willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.
• Excellent patient care and nursing skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional nursing care to Internal Medicine patients.
• Assist with advanced diagnostic procedures and treatments.
• Administer medications and treatments as directed.
• Monitor hospitalized patients and communicate changes to the medical team.
• Educate and communicate with clients regarding patient care and treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
• Assist with anesthesia monitoring and patient recovery.
• Participate in departmental on-call responsibilities.
