Job summary

Pieper Veterinary is seeking a Veterinary Technician for the Emergency department on the 2nd shift in Middletown, CT. This full-time role involves hands-on ICU care, communication with pet parents, and collaboration with critical care vets.

Requirements include experience in emergency/ICU settings and a CVT or associate degree; strong teamwork and independent work capability are valued. Holidays are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced emergency or ICU setting.
• Restraint, triage, patient monitoring, ventilator support, anesthesia, venipuncture, and IV placement skills.
• Associate's in Veterinary Technology and/or CVT license is a plus.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on ICU care: treatments, vitals monitoring, advanced diagnostics.
• Work closely with board-certified Criticalists and ER vets.
• Monitor patients closely using advanced equipment.
• Communicate compassionately with pet parents.
• Help train teammates and improve processes.
