Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive outpatient Internal Medicine services.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
• Conduct routine physical examinations, wellness visits, and preventive screenings.
• Manage diabetes and other chronic health conditions.
• Provide women’s health and family-planning services as appropriate.
• Administer or order CDC-recommended immunizations.
• Provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) when appropriately trained.
• Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic studies.
• Coordinate specialty care and diagnostic imaging referrals.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Collaborate with pharmacy, behavioral health, nursing, and clinical support teams.

• Setting: Outpatient clinic
• Patient Volume: Approximately 16 patients per day

I'm seeking an experienced Internal Medicine Physician for a locums-to-permanent opportunity. This position offers a flexible schedule, manageable patient volume, and an opportunity to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care in a collaborative outpatient environment.

Position Highlights

• Locums: Initial 13-week assignment with permanent consideration
• Credentialing: Approximately 4 weeks
• Licensure: Any active, unrestricted U.S. state physician license accepted
• Setting: Outpatient clinic
• Schedule: Flexible 4- or 5-day workweek
• Four 10-hour shifts, or
• Five-day schedule totaling 40 hours per week
• Patient Volume: Approximately 16 patients per day
• Clinic closed on designated holidays
• Same-day appointments for established patients with acute concerns
• After-hours telephone consultation may occasionally be required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive outpatient Internal Medicine services
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions

Outpatient Clinical Procedures

The physician may perform routine office-based procedures consistent with their training, experience, and granted clinical privileges, including:

• Dermatologic biopsies and minor skin procedures
• Nail procedures,
• Cervical cancer screening, including Pap testing
• Contraceptive implant insertion and removal
• Joint, trigger-point, and therapeutic corticosteroid injections
• Wound assessment, treatment, and ongoing management
• Additional minor office-based procedures within the physician s scope of practice and clinical privileges

Required Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Active, unrestricted physician license any U.S. state
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine
• Active DEA registration
• Current BLS certification
• Outpatient primary care experience
• Ability to provide high-quality, patient-centered care

Preferred Qualifications

• Rural, community-based, or outpatient primary care experience
• Experience serving medically underserved populations
• NextGen EMR experience
• Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) experience or applicable training
• Broad outpatient clinical experience
