Medicorp, Inc. California-based Med/Peds Hospitalist opportunity offers a 7-on/7-off schedule with a small team, open ICU, and 24/7 telemedicine critical care. Adult coverage via Internal Medicine BC/BE; pediatric coverage by Med/Peds or Family Medicine BC/BE including newborns.

Expect procedures, codes, and APP supervision duties. Located in a rural farming community near Redding with easy access to Sacramento for travel.

Qualifications

• Med/Peds or Family Medicine BC/BE may cover pediatric patients (1–2 per day).
• Open ICU with telemedicine critical care 24/7.

Job description

California – Med/Peds Hospitalist

• Hospitalist requirements – Meds/Peds or FM trained with peds experience is ideal. Small volume of Peds coverage needed. Will consider IM for adult services only. Physician need ability to perform procedures and be confident/competent in ICU and work with a level of autonomy at this program. Physicians will have APP supervision duties.
• We welcome the challenge of complex cases, working in an open ICU with telemedicine critical care 24/7. We do most procedures and run codes.
• You’ll experience an average census of 10-12 per physician, with 1-3 admissions per day and 2-6 admissions per night.
• Internal Medicine BC/BE to cover adult services only. Med/Peds or family medicine BC/BE will have the opportunity to provide coverage of pediatric patients; 1-2 pediatric patients a day – primarily newborns, may also require resuscitation for critical newborns until transfer – assist ER in facilitating transfers of critical patients.
• Cerner EMR and access to internal informatics platform.
• Phone consultations with specialists at our larger regional hospital complement opportunities for independent practice.
