Kidney in Arlington, VA seeks a Family Nurse Practitioner to join a patient-first clinical team in a private practice focused on primary care and nephrology. The schedule is flexible with no weekends or on-call requirements; Epic EMR is used to streamline care and collaboration with an on-site physician.

The role requires a Master’s or Doctorate in Nursing, active Virginia NP licensure, and board certification as FNP or AGPCNP, plus DEA registration.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctorate in NP from an accredited program.
• Active board certification as FNP or AGPCNP (ANCC/AANP).
• Active Virginia NP license and DEA registration (or eligibility).
• 1–2 years in outpatient primary care or urgent care; Epic EMR experience welcomed.
• Proficient clinical documentation in a digital workflow.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient primary care including chronic disease management and preventive wellness exams.
• Collaborate with on-site physician under a practice agreement.
• Maintain efficient charting in Epic EMR and participate in team-based care.
• Support a flexible, patient-centered practice schedule Monday–Friday.

Join a dedicated, patient-first clinical team at our independent primary care and nephrology practice in Arlington, VA. Free from the rigid volume quotas and bureaucratic friction of large corporate hospital systems, our private practice prioritizes meaningful patient relationships and provider well-being. To eliminate documentation burnout and streamline your workflow, our clinic fully utilizes Epic EMR. We strictly protect your time by offering a highly flexible schedule with no weekend or on-call shifts.

Compensation (Option A-Hourly): $55.00-$68.00 per hour (commensurate with experience).

Compensation (Option B-Annual): $115,000-$135,000 annualized base range (commensurate with final schedule/experience).

Schedule: Flexible 4 to 5 days per week, strictly Monday through Friday (Daytime hours).

Job Requirements

Education: Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited School of Nursing (Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner program).

Board Certification: Active board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Adult-Gerontology Primary care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) from the ANCC or AANP.

Licensure: Active, unrestricted license as a Nurse Practitioner

Prescriptive Authority: Active Virginia Prescriptive Authority and a valid federal DEA registration (or eligibility to obtain prior to start date).

Experience and Technical Skills:

EHR Proficiency: Prior documentation experience in Epic EMR is highly preferred. Must be capable of maintaining efficient, high-quality charting within a digital workflow

Clinical Scope: Proven experience in outpatient primary care, including chronic disease management (diabetes, hypertension, etc.), and preventive wellness exams.

Practice Model: Comfortable operating under a collaborative practice agreement with our supportive, on-site physician.

Preferred Attributes:

Minimum of 1-2 yrs of clinical experience in a primary care or urgent care setting is preferred, but exceptional new graduates with strong clinical reference and extensive prior Epic EMR experience are welcome to apply.

A desire to work in a nimble, private practice environment where patient outcomes and team-based care take priority over corporate metrics.
