Job summary

The City of Tulsa seeks a skilled labor candidate for a major repair/heavy construction role. Candidate will show progression through challenging trades, including semiskilled and skilled tasks with leadership responsibilities and an Operator II background where applicable.

Work hours typically follow a standard day shift, with location at 4502 S Galveston Ave (AS) and pay scale aligned to Labor Trade classifications.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED.
• Three years of progressively responsible experience in major repair or heavy construction.
• Semiskilled and skilled work in heavy construction with some lead duties.
• One year as an Operator II.

Job description

Training and Experience: Must meet the following criteria:

• a) Graduation from high school or possession of a General Educational Development Certificate (GED); and
• b) Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in the major repair or heavy construction field, including,
• c) Semiskilled and skilled work in the major repair or heavy construction field with some lead work responsibility; or
• d) One (1) year as an Operator II

HOURS:

Monday - Thursday 7:00 am to 5:30 pm

Licenses and Certificates:

• Possession of a valid Oklahoma Class “D” Driver License
• Class “A” CDL with endorsements within designated timeframes depending on division, some positions
• Relevant Class “D” Water/Wastewater License as issued by the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) within 6 months of hire, some positions
• Confined Space Entry Certification and/or Certification on Self -Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) within 6 months of hire, some positions
