Job summary

Henry Ford Rochester Hospital is seeking a Cardiac-Vascular Sonographer to perform noninvasive cardiac and vascular ultrasound procedures in Rochester, MI. The role includes 2D and M-Mode echocardiograms, Doppler, and duplex scans, supporting physicians with diagnostic imaging and preliminary reports.

The position is part-time (24 hrs) with varying shifts (7a-7p & 9a-9p) and a collaborative team environment dedicated to high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform a variety of noninvasive cardiac and vascular ultrasound procedures.
• Proficiency in utilizing cardiac and vascular ultrasound equipment and physiologic recorders.
• Must be dual registered in echocardiography and vascular ultrasound.

Responsibilities

• Perform 2D & M-Mode Echocardiograms, including Doppler with color flow imaging.
• Conduct Carotid, Venous, Abdominal, and Peripheral Arterial Duplex scans per standards.
• Assist physicians in transesophageal echocardiograms and stress testing procedures.

Role Overview: As a Cardiac-Vascular Sonographer, you will play a critical role in supporting the Mission and Vision of HFRH by performing noninvasive cardiac and vascular diagnostic ultrasound procedures. Your work will directly assist physicians in assessing patient cardiac and vascular health, contributing to accurate diagnoses and treatment plans. This role is essential for ensuring patients receive timely and effective care.

What You Will Do:

• Perform 2D & M-Mode Echocardiograms, including cardiac Doppler evaluations using color flow imaging, continuous wave, and pulsed wave analysis.
• Conduct Carotid Duplex scans, Venous Duplex scans, Abdominal Duplex scans and Peripheral Arterial Evaluations according to industry standards and department protocols.
• Assist physicians in performing transesophageal echocardiograms and cardiovascular stress testing procedures, including Dobutamine and Exercise Stress Echocardiograms.
• Prepare preliminary technical reports and relay critical findings to physicians in acute situations.
• Obtain accurate patient medical histories and document technical findings appropriately.
• Assist in general department functions, including answering telephones, scheduling appointments, and maintaining supplies and equipment.

What You Will Need:

• Ability to perform a variety of noninvasive cardiac and vascular diagnostic ultrasound procedures.
• Proficiency in utilizing cardiac and vascular ultrasound equipment and physiologic recorders.
• Skill in preparing preliminary technical reports and documenting patient information.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in training new employees or students in cardiovascular techniques and procedures.
• Familiarity with cardiac imaging contrast agents and their application in suboptimal studies.
• Must be dual registered in echocardiography and vascular ultrasound.
