Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs in Burns Harbor, IN is seeking an Internal Auditor to plan and execute audits and compliance activities, helping manage strategic risks and improve processes with effective controls. You will work with Audit leadership to define scope, perform SOX testing, document findings, and communicate results to management.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s in accounting or related field, strong ethics, and 1–3 years of audit experience; CPA/CIA preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Ability to maintain the highest level of ethics, integrity, and objectivity.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute audits and compliance activities to manage strategic risks.
• Conduct audits with detailed planning and defined objectives with management.
• Evaluate control effectiveness and document findings to support audit results.
• Assist with SOX scoping, planning, and administration, including testing plans.
• Execute testing of key SOX controls in conjunction with the annual test plan.
• Communicate audit results to management and stakeholders to maximize value.
