Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. is seeking a summer Internal Audit Intern at Burns Harbor, IN, to support SOX scoping, planning, testing, and audit programs. The internship offers hands-on exposure to corporate accounting within a Fortune 500 company and the chance for future full-time employment.

Responsibilities include planning audits, executing tests, documenting results, and communicating findings to management. Enrollment in a BS program and U.S. work authorization are required.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a BS program in Accounting, Finance, or another business-related field.
• Must have completed at least the sophomore year by Summer 2027.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

• Assist with SOX scoping, planning, and administration including planning memos and risk/control matrices.
• Execute testing of key SOX controls in the annual test plan.
• Assist management in preparation of planning memorandums and audit programs.
• Conduct audits with detailed planning and defined objectives with management.
• Evaluate process, system, and control effectiveness using accounting and auditing knowledge.
• Assist in preparation and presentation of audit results.
• Identify value-added solutions to address issues identified.
• Recommend operational improvements to ensure proper controls over assets.
• Monitor status of audit action plans.
• Maintain confidentiality of audit findings and company information.
• Develop working relationships with Internal Audit stakeholders.
• Adhere to Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and IIA Code of Ethics.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Accounting/Finance or related Business field

Completion of sophomore year by Summer 2027
