Job summary

Nelnet is seeking an Audit Intern to gain hands-on experience across the company, with exposure to leaders in multiple functions. The role emphasizes learning, collaboration, and contributing to audit work while developing business and IT process understanding.

You will research, analyze, and document processes, participate in events for interns, and work with external auditors to gather information. Pay ranges from $14–$18 per hour.

Qualifications

• Pursuing degree in business/accounting/finance/ MIS/ IT /data analytics or other business related field.
• Familiarity with being a contributor on a team, gathering information and putting it together in a logical manner, quickly learning how things work, including technology.

Responsibilities

• Learn about the financial services industry, Nelnet and internal audit.
• Research and collect information about how business and IT functions work.
• Analyze information and determine whether processes meet company standards and objectives.
• Assist in the process of performing audit work and required documentation.
• Work on special projects.
• Collaborate with all levels of staff and management to understand how processes work and find ways to make the processes work even better.
• Document and communicate the results of your work.
• Participate in specific events and trainings for Nelnet interns.
• Work with external auditors to help them understand internal processes through gathering information.

EDUCATION

Pursuing degree in business/accounting/finance/management information systems/IT/data analytics or other business related field.
