Job summary

Nelnet Audit Services is looking for an Audit Intern to gain exposure to a wide range of company functions while learning about internal audit and the financial services industry. You will research and collect information, analyze processes, and assist in audit work, collaborating with staff and management across the organization.

Qualified students pursuing business, accounting, finance, MIS, IT, data analytics or related fields are encouraged to apply.

• Pursuing degree in business/accounting/finance/MIS/IT/data analytics or related field.
• Experience contributing in a team and quickly learning how things work.
• Demonstrated curiosity, problem solving, collaboration and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Learn about the financial services industry, Nelnet and internal audit.
• Research and collect information about how business and IT functions work.
• Analyze information and determine whether processes meet company standards and objectives.
• Assist in the process of performing audit work and required documentation.
• Work on special projects.
• Collaborate with staff and management to understand processes and improve them.
• Document and communicate the results of your work.
• Participate in events and trainings for Nelnet interns.
• Work with external auditors to help them understand internal processes.

As an Audit Intern, you will have the opportunity to learn about various functions and processes across the entire company and you will have exposure to leaders across all functions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Learn about the financial services industry, Nelnet and internal audit
• Research and collect information about how business and IT functions work
• Analyze information and determine whether processes meet company standards and objectives
• Assist in the process of performing audit work and required documentation
• Work on special projects
• Collaborate with all levels of staff and management to understand how processes work and find ways to make the processes work even better
• Document and communicate the results of your work
• Participate in specific events and trainings for Nelnet interns
• Work with external auditors to help them understand internal processes through gathering information

Pay Range - $14 - $18

EDUCATION

Pursuing degree in business/accounting/finance/management information systems/IT/data analytics or other business related field.

EXPERIENCE

Familiarity with being a contributor on a team, gathering information and putting it together in a logical manner, quickly learning how things work, including technology.
