JOB DESCRIPTION Supervisor
TITLE: Maintenance Supervisor

FTE: 1.0

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

WORK CALENDAR: 260-262 days

COMPENSATION

Classified Exempt Compensation Guide (Starting Salary: $58,148)

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Coordinates, supervises, and participates in campus maintenance services and custodial activities
  • Inspects campus buildings, grounds and athletic fields; issues work orders to make necessary repairs and inspects completed work
  • Confers with District administration, building principals and other parties in making plans for planning, maintenance, and use of various school grounds and buildings
  • Interprets plans and sketches in the carrying out of projects
  • Coordinates with the site Principal and the Director of Maintenance and/or Maintenance Manager for interviews, screening and recommending personnel for employment
  • Supervises and trains staff in safety, equipment operation, and maintenance skills
  • Approve all maintenance and custodial employee absences
  • Approve all maintenance and custodial employee time sheets and edits for payroll
  • Procures supplies and equipment and services within budget capacity
  • Ensures tools and maintenance equipment are properly maintained
  • Establishes personnel work schedules, oversees day-to-day performances and conducts evaluations as required
  • Remains on the school premises during and after school hours when the use of the building has been authorized and their attendance is required
  • Responds to alarms and call-outs on nights and weekends
  • Complies with safety rules and regulations and meets OSHA requirements
  • Represents consistently the District in a positive and professional manner
  • Maintains confidentiality of information regarding students, staff, parents and school issues
  • Provides a welcoming atmosphere in all areas of responsibility
  • Performs responsibilities in an ethical and professional manner
  • Maintains punctual and regular attendance
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required

Education / Certificate
  • Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess a valid Arizona driver license with an exemplary driving record
  • Must have and maintain a valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
Experience/Qualifications
  • Minimum of three years experience in schools or commercial buildings
  • Minimum two years of supervisory experience is beneficial
  • Must possess a broad knowledge in the operation of both hand and power tools
  • Must possess working knowledge of building safety codes
  • Superior time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work well with others and with minimal supervision
  • Must be 21 years of age or older upon hire
Communication Skills
  • Strong writing, literacy and communication skills; uses effective communication strategies to interact with a variety of audiences
  • Must possess ability to work cooperatively with parents, students, administrators, faculty, staff and general public
  • Must possess strong leadership skills
  • Bilingual communication is beneficial
Computer/Technology Skills
  • Knowledge of Google Suite
  • Must possess basic computing and clerical skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Must be able to push, pull, or lift weights in excess of 50 lbs
  • Must be in good health and have ability to climb ladders, bend, lift, stoop and reach
  • Must be capable and willing to drive all fleet vehicles
  • Must be able to push, pull or otherwise move boxes and materials
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to tolerate a semi-private working environment
  • Must be able to multitask
  • Must be able to be flexible with work hours
