Job summary

The internship at Cagayan State University in Vienna, VA offers hands-on experience in data governance and analytics. You will research data assets, document data lineage, update data in automated systems, and assist with reports and audits while supporting the department’s data roadmap.

Responsibilities

• Research department data assets to increase awareness of data sources, database content, lineage, and transformation logic.
• Create and enhance documentation for data sources, content, lineage, record retention plans, and transformation logic related to base measures, KPIs, and departmental Key Results metrics.
• Process and update data in automated systems and generate and analyze reports.
• Investigate root causes of database update or accuracy issues.
• Support periodic audits of data table accuracy and access permissions.
• Update authorized user lists and monitor stakeholder requests intake.
• Support the department’s data roadmap and strategic planning.
• Collaborate with Data Stewards, Analysts, and staff to complete tasks and assignments.
• Provide support to assigned department and work on small or portions of larger projects.
• Support business strategy and initiatives within the business unit and across the organization.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Your Role

Key responsibilities include:

• Researching department data assets to increase awareness of data sources, database content, lineage, and transformation logic.

Additional Information

This is a year-round, full or part-time flexible internship based on school schedule, requiring a minimum of 20-25 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Locations include Vienna, VA, and Pensacola, FL.
