Position Overview

Micron is seeking a highly motivated Yield Enhancement Engineer Intern to join our semiconductor manufacturing organization. In this role, you will work alongside experienced engineers to investigate yield issues, perform electrical failure analysis, analyze wafer and manufacturing test data, and develop data-driven solutions that improve engineering effectiveness. You will gain hands‑on experience in semiconductor characterization, automation, advanced analytics, and AI‑enabled engineering workflows while contributing to projects that support yield improvement and manufacturing excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Gain hands‑on experience testing semiconductor wafers using probe stations, electrical characterization equipment, and manufacturing test data.
  • Support electrical failure analysis activities and yield investigations to identify and resolve product and process issues.
  • Analyze manufacturing and test data to identify trends, anomalies, yield detractors, and potential root causes.
  • Develop scripts, dashboards, visualization tools, and automation solutions that improve engineering workflows and productivity.
  • Apply statistical methods, AI tools, and data analytics techniques to support defect detection, problem solving, and manufacturing optimization.
  • Use large language models (LLMs) and generative AI technologies to accelerate data analysis, technical documentation, knowledge discovery, and engineering decision‑making.
  • Develop and evaluate AI‑assisted workflows, prompt engineering techniques, and automation solutions to improve investigation efficiency and engineering effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with Design, Process Integration, Manufacturing, Test, and Product Engineering teams while presenting technical findings through reports and presentations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Materials Science, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field.
  • Basic understanding of semiconductor devices, semiconductor manufacturing, or related technologies.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to analyze technical data and communicate findings effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively on multi‑functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Materials Science, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with data analysis, programming, or automation tools such as Python, SQL, JMP, Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
  • Experience using AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or equivalent technologies for technical problem‑solving, coding assistance, data analysis, or workflow automation.
  • Familiarity with machine learning concepts, data science methodologies, prompt engineering, retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG), AI agents, or automation frameworks.
  • Strong interest in semiconductor technology, failure analysis, digital transformation, manufacturing optimization, and experience and/or interest in developing Agentic AI workflows into current or future processes.
Micron benefits are designed to help you stay well, provide peace of mind and help you prepare for the future.
  • We offer a choice of medical, dental and vision plans in all locations enabling team members to select the plans that best meet their family healthcare needs and budget.
