Job summary

BMW Group in Santa Monica, CA, seeks a Spring 2027 Intern in Visual Communications to support marketing and communications. The role runs Jan 11–May 14, 2027, with hybrid work and 4 days in-office at Santa Monica.

You will craft content, manage social channels, and assist event logistics while aligning with the BMW brand identity. Current students in graphic design/photography or related fields, English fluency, and a solid portfolio are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support all communications initiatives, reporting to LA Director of Strategy and Partnering.
• Assist in crafting compelling content for marketing materials, social media, blogs, and promotional pieces.

• Collaborate with design teams to ensure brand consistency across channels.
• Coordinate and execute marketing events, both in-person and virtual, with logistics support.
• Work with design teams to integrate visual elements into marketing materials.
• Provide general administrative support to marketing and communications teams.
• Maintain the Designworks website content and image quality, updating materials as needed.

Spring 2027 Full-Time Internship - Santa Monica, CA

January 11, 2027 - May 14, 2027

WHAT AWAITS YOU.

• Support all comms initiatives, including reporting directly to the LA Director of Strategy and Partnering, and providing key support to the DW LA Comms lead as the LA studio continues to expand its online presence.
• Assist in crafting compelling and engaging content for various marketing and communication materials, including social media posts, blog articles and various promotional materials.
• Support the Comms Lead on social media accounts, including establishing a content schedule and calendar, monitoring engagement, and contributing innovative ideas for content creation.
• Collaborate with Comms Lead to ensure brand consistency in messaging across all channels.
• Assist in the coordination and execution of marketing events, both in-person and virtual, ensuring seamless communication and logistics.
• Work closely with design teams to integrate visual elements into marketing materials, aligning with the agency's creative identity.
• Provide general administrative support to the marketing and communications team, including organizing files, maintaining databases, and coordinating meetings.
• Maintain the Designworks website by updating content and uploading new materials as they become available. Support the creation of case studies, maintain image quality and appropriate sizing, etc.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program at an accredited college or university.
• US Work Authorization required.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (overall, not just major).
• Completed at least 60 college credit hours at the time of application.
• Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week).
• Must submit an unofficial college transcript with your application.

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING.

• Field of Study: Graphic Design, Photography or related creative fields.
• Business fluent English.
• Experience writing creative copy and a strong command of the English language.
• A solid grasp of multi-platform marketing and the needs of each platform and a willingness to learn back-end tools that support daily social media posting.
• Experience using Adobe Creative Suite and an interest in learning new visual tools including Weave and other AI creative tools.
• Visual acumen, the ability to match brand voice and capability of translating abstract concepts into easy-to-read copy for a variety of formats.

Relocation assistance is not available for this position. This is a hybrid role that requires 4 days in office at the Sanat Monica, CA location.

Undergraduate students: Hourly rate is $25.30.

Graduate students: Hourly rate is $32.20.

The selected student's academic level will be used to determine the final pay rate. This statement is in accordance with state and local pay disclosure requirements.
